Plankore is a VC-funded US-based startup building AI that truly understands construction blueprints — not just pixels, but structure, intent, and cross-sheet reasoning.

Construction blueprints are the system of record for a $13T industry, yet today's tools still rely on manual tracing or shallow automation. We're building a multimodal reasoning layer that can read plans, legends, notes, and sections to produce trustworthy quantity takeoffs for contractors and suppliers.

Plankore is a daily-use system for contractors making high-stakes decisions. Accuracy, usability, and trust matter.

This role owns the product foundation that everything else builds on.

The role

As a Fullstack Lead Software Engineer (Member of Technical Staff), you will architect and build on top of our MVP application — the surface where humans and AI collaborate.

You will work directly with:

• US-based CEO (15+ YOE in Product/Eng, Chicago Booth MBA, NUS B.Eng)
• Dual US/Vietnam-based CTO (15+ YOE in Computer Vision/Eng, CMU PhD)

and other technical members of the company. This is a high-ownership role with real influence on product direction. It might lead to a management role as the company scales and if the candidate is a good fit.

What you'll own

Broad ownership across the full engineering stack:

• Full-end ownership: architect, build, and operate resilient web applications across the stack — from responsive, modern frontends to robust backend microservices and APIs.
• 0-to-1 system design: design greenfield software architectures, databases, and APIs built for performance, security, and scalability while keeping complexity to a minimum.
• Production excellence: deploy and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure, managing end-to-end operational health, monitoring, reliability, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Rapid execution & engineering judgment: move with speed and urgency to ship value quickly; ruthlessly prioritize features and leverage AI-assisted development tools to maximize productivity.
• Autonomous problem solving: debug complex distributed-systems issues and make sound technical choices independently under evolving startup requirements.
• Remote collaboration: communicate technical trade-offs, architecture decisions, and project updates clearly across distributed teams.

What we're looking for

• Experience: 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably within fast-paced SaaS or product-led companies.
• Backend mastery: deep knowledge of backend architecture, API design (REST/GraphQL), relational/non-relational databases, and distributed systems.
• Frontend proficiency: solid hands-on experience building modern frontend applications integrated with backend APIs.
• Cloud & operations: practical experience provisioning, managing, and deploying cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes).
• AI tooling: advanced proficiency using modern AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude) to accelerate development workflows.
• Mindset & ownership: high agency, strong bias for action, and an iterative, startup-ready mindset comfortable with ambiguity.

Nice to have

• Experience with canvas-based, diagram, or design tools
• B2B SaaS or workflow product experience
• Prior exposure to ML / AI-powered features

Working model (important)

• This is a Vietnam-based role working closely with a US founding team.
• You'll collaborate directly with experienced US product and engineering leaders.
• Take ownership of your work.
• Clear communication (Vietnamese or English) and async collaboration are essential.
