A project holds one set of drawings, its takeoff, and its estimate.

Start a project

  1. On the Dashboard (your Project hub), click + New project.

The dashboard with the New project button and project cards 2. In Start Your New Project, give the project a name (Plankore suggests one, e.g. Project 3). You can rename it any time.

Step 1 of the new-project wizard: project name and the file drop area 3. Drag your plan files onto the upload area, or click to browse. You can add several files at once — PDFs and images (.pdf, .png, .jpg, .webp, .tif, .heic, …). See Supported files and upload limits.

Two files selected in the wizard, with Add more files and Continue 4. If your plan includes AI, the next step — Automate Your Takeoffs with AI — lets you choose what the AI should detect. Skip it if you'd rather draw everything yourself. 5. Plankore checks each file (Checking pages…) and shows the Review step: every file is marked Good, Processing… or Failed. Remove failed files or keep going — good files are never blocked by a bad one. 6. Click Continue to Takeoff & Bid. You'll land in the workspace while pages finish rendering (Preparing Your First Pages…Your Workspace is Ready).

What happens next

  • Pages show up under Page Preview in the left panel, one thumbnail per sheet.
  • On Pro, the AI starts reading sheet names and scales — you'll see AI scanning… on thumbnails.
  • Set the scale on a page and start measuring — see Set the page scale.

Next: settings, rename, delete

Measurement units and sales tax live in Project Details → Project settings — see Project settings. Renaming and deleting are covered in Create, rename and delete a project.

Limits

Each account has a per-project page limit. If a set is over it you'll see "This selection has N pages, which exceeds the …-page project limit." — email hello@plankore.ai to raise it, or split the set. Your monthly project count shows on the dashboard: "You've processed N projects this month."

Core includes 5 projects per month; Pro is unlimited.
